Packaged vegetables are being recalled in multiple states across the USA, including Texas, due to possible contamination from Listeria bacteria, which can cause fatal food poisoning in young children, pregnant women and elderly or frail people.

Trader Joe's: 10-ounce bags of kohlrabi salad blend are being recalled.

In response, Meijer has recalled several dozen products, including broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus, that were sold in six states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Randalls, Tom Thumb and Albertsons stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas are recalling Ready. When listeria gets discovered, the recalls come in ripples as all food produced in the same facility around the same time could be infected.

Customers who bought the recalled veggies are urged to throw them away or return them for a refund.
