As investigators wade through the aftermath of the worst mass shooting in modern US history, they are now looking into the potential danger of the fuel tanks, which sit 1,100 feet from the concert site.

MSNBC reported on Friday a mobile phone charger that did not match Paddock's phone was found in his Mandalay Bay suite and it appears the keycard for his room was used to open the door when his vehicle had left the casino auto park.

Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said Friday at a news conference that examinations of Paddock's politics, finances, any possible radicalization and his social behavior have turned up little information on what led to the attack.

"As you saw earlier this week, the city conducts extensive public safety planning and training around major events, in close coordination with our law enforcement partners, to ensure public safety", a statement from Chicago Police Department obtained by Xinhua said.

It is the worst mass shooting event in USA history.

CBS news channel reported on Thursday that Paddock and Danley bought a Hyundai Tucson from a dealership in Reno, Nevada, on August 1. The 64-year-old also had plans to escape, which means he had planned the attack meticulously.

Paddock made a reservation at a hotel overlooking Chicago's Grant Park during this year's Lollapalooza, a three-day music festival held the first weekend in August.

Sheriff Lombardo said Paddock fired about 200 rounds of ammunition into the hallway outside his suite, wounding a security guard who had come to investigate.

"You gotta make the assumption he had to have some help at some point", said Lombardo.

When the police entered his room, Paddock was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Paddock booked two rooms in the Blackstone hotel for 7/23-8/01 and for 7/27-8/03, all dates that corresponded with Lollapalooza.

He requested an upper-floor room overlooking the festival and stockpiled 23 guns, a dozen of which were modified with bump stocks to fire continuously like an automatic weapon.
