Beckham was carted off the field Sunday after suffering the injury with about four minutes remaining in the game. Three plays later Philip Rivers found Melvin Gordon for the go-ahead touchdown.

In a game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Beckham jumped to catch an Eli Manning pass, but he was immediately brought down by a Chargers defender.

Should he, in fact, need surgery on his left ankle, as ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported, he could end up missing the remainder of the season.

Earlier in the game both Marshall and Shepard left with ankle injuries on separate plays in the half and did not return.

In addition to Beckham, fellow receivers Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris also suffered injuries during New York's loss Sunday.

Sitting at 0-5 and losing their best player, the situation might be able to get worse for the Giants, but not by much.

Taylor Rooks‏ tweeted: "Brutal game for Giants".

In the fourth quarter, Beckham went up for a catch before being pulled to the ground and twisting in awkward direction.
