This year for Halloween, Kim Kardashian West paid tribute to some major music icons, but not everyone is happy with onehomage in particular.

The Aaliyah attire first sparked off a heated discussion when the 37-year-old mother of two posted a video clip of her flaunting the look and fans noticed an accidental nip-slip in it. With longtime friend Jonathan Cheban as a dapper Sonny, Kim rocked the bare midriff ensemble that the "Believe" icon turned heads with at the 1973 Academy Awards.

Halloween isn't officially until Tuesday (Oct. 31), so Kim has a few more days to show off new costumes. Her next look was Madonna and she was joined in by her sister, Kourtney who dressed up as Michael Jackson. Kim recreated the look from Aaliyah's 2001 hit "Try Again", wearing a bejewelled choker, with a matching bra and black trousers. With her choice of dressing as a black artist, however, Kim Kardashian has the internet accusing her of racism. She announced it on Twitter with the picture of the two as Cher and Sonny. The American star shared a glimpse of her look dressed as the late 22-year-old star performer.

Some people have even gone to the extent of calling her disrespectful, especially since the singer passed away back in 2001, while some labelled her make up as "blackface" - something that's deemed culturally offensive. "If she doesn't scare you no evil thing will", she captioned the photo on Instagram.
