Harvey Weinstein: Matt Damon admits Ben Affleck told him of Paltrow harassment

"I knew the story of Gwyneth, from Ben, 'cause he was with her after Brad (Pitt). but I was working with Gwyneth with Harvey on Ripley", he recalled.

"I never talked to Gwyneth about it but Ben told me that whatever or agreement they had come to there was an understanding. and he treated her incredibly respectfully", he continued. He was proud of that.

While promoting their new movie, "Suburbicon", Damon has stated that he was never fond of Weinstein but he didn't know that he could responsible for such horrendous acts. And I knew he was a womanizer.

George Clooney is appalled no one came forward with the truth about Harvey Weinstein's alleged sexual assault and harassment stories years ago.

The ER alum, meanwhile, claimed that Weinstein had told him that he had extramarital affairs with "some actresses who were friends of mine", but Clooney did not believe him at the time.

He told Strahan there needs to be a "comeuppance for all of this". It was his legend, it was his mode of operation, like "Can you survive an encounter with Harvey?" "When people say 'everybody knew, ' yeah, I knew".

"I knew that story".

Damon first worked with Weinstein on his first movie, the critically-accailmed "Good Will Hunting", which shot Damon into stardom.

"She was the first lady of Miramax". "I knew he was an a--".

Damon said that he had been aware of the allegations Gwyneth Paltrow made about Weinstein.

"There has to be some good that comes out of all of this and the good is going to have to be that women feel safe to speak up, that they are believed and hopefully be enough that it scares any man who would behave like that from doing it", Clooney told the TV show.

Angry Clooney went on to reveal he spoke to Weinstein less than a month before a New York Times expose (Oct17), which launched the producer's fall from grace, was published and agreed to write a letter on his behalf.

The disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment and bullying by a number of female film stars. Matt Damon and George Clooney have expressed themselves publicly on american television. "They are who we all should be thinking about". And there's some woman who was somehow assaulted, and it was at the Golden Globes, and I somehow missed it?

"I was there at the height of his power", Damon admitted on US breakfast show Good Morning America.
