A laptop recovered from Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock's hotel room is reportedly missing a hard drive, leaving investigators without what could be vital clues in solving remaining mysteries into the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. Bruce Paddock had been "squatting" inside the business on San Fernando Road following his eviction from a residence, police said.

This is a developing story.

Over the years, he has faced charged of arson, criminal threats and burglary, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

He now faces one count of possession of more than 600 images of child pornography and 19 counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

The child porn case predated the October 1 shooting, said the law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The police statement said Bruce Paddock came under investigation after evidence was discovered inside a business in the Sun Valley area of the city where he had been a squatter.

"At the time of the initial investigation Paddock was a transient and could not be located", police said.

After the attack, Bruce Paddock told NBC News he was questioned about the shooting twice by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Police have found no such connection, however.

Authorities are examining every aspect of Paddock's life - from his family, friends and associates to his travel patterns, health and finances. In case there are more victims, call Juvenile Div 562-624-4027.
