Winger Junior Stanislas trained with the first team this week after groin surgery last season while striker Callum Wilson is working on his fitness as he recovers from a knee injury.

Izzy Brown may be in contention after returning to training following a hamstring problem.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe revealed Fraser "should be okay" ahead of the fixture against the Seagulls.

But they avoided matching the relegated 2005-06 Sunderland and 2009-10 Portsmouth, who both lost their first five games of the season, thanks to goals from Andrew Surman and Jermain Defoe at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth's win eases the pressure on Howe, who has challenged his players to get up to speed on exactly how to tee-up Defoe.

"They're good on the ball, they had very good movement but I thought we matched them".

"We defended really well all game".

"We know that we'll be judged on these games".

Following that, Bournemouth travel to Everton in the league next weekend while 14th-placed Brighton host Newcastle United. But what they've always done is come through them.

"It is a tough place to go on a Friday night under the floodlights, but I just hope we can take some of that confidence from Saturday's game". Tonight they make the trip along the south coast to Bournemouth.

Think you can do better than Lawro?

- Defoe has scored in 17 different Premier League seasons, with only three players scoring in more - Frank Lampard (18), Paul Scholes (19) and Ryan Giggs (21).

He told the Daily Echo: "We have never really had a good start to the Premier League season. It feels like it's been longer than four games that we haven't won, because at the beginning of the season you're just desperate for a win and desperate to hit the ground running and that hasn't happened".
