Mignolet rested for Liverpool, Sanchez returns to Arsenal line-up

Jurgen Klopp has chose to completely axe Simon Mignolet from the matchday squad ahead of Liverpool's clash with Arsenal on Sunday, according to a report.

Loris Karius has been chosen by Jurgen Klopp as his man between the sticks for the huge clash with the Gunners.

The Belgium worldwide was an ever-present in the Reds' goal since last December, following Loris Karius' disapponting start to his Anfield career.

"He's rested, that's all", the Liverpool manager told the club's official website.

"For a goalkeeper it's a different intensity".

Karius impressed during his time in Germany, making 96 appearances in all competitions for Mainz before making the move to Anfield, taking part in 10 Premier League matches last season as he battled Mignolet for the goalkeeper spot.

"He won the race and was really strong for us, but we need the other two boys (Karius and Danny Ward) also". I think from the first minute to the last minute we were not at the level requested for such a game.

Arsenal will be boosted by Sanchez's return, the Chilean having recovered from illness and an abdominal issue that have kept him out in the early stages of the season.

Star signing Alexandre Lacazette dropped to the bench, with Danny Welbeck starting up front.
