Before his loss to Hunt, in which he exhausted and took on too much damage, "Black Beast" had won six fights in a row and was garnering consideration for a potential title shot later this year, if not in 2018.

In his post-fight interview with Octagon-side commentator Brian Stann, the heavyweight contender mentioned a lingering back injury, and said this bout with Hunt might have been his last in the cage.

After the fight, Lewis hinted at a possible retirement from the sport. Lewis smiles and shakes it off but Hunt and the crowd seem to think it really hurt him. Hunt also recorded his 10th career MMA win via knockout. Hunt managed to pin him against the cage and land some heavy elbows and body shots that caused the ref to step in and call the fight.

"I was cheated in my last fight", Brunson said. Lewis claimed Browne "beat" his former spouse, despite the allegations going unconfirmed after "inconclusive evidence".

"To walk (into the octagon) in my country of birth is pretty wonderful", Hunt said. What's more, at 32 years old in an aging division, he had a long, bright future ahead of him.

"I can finish anybody in the world".

The UFC released a short statement today explaining French lightweight Thibault Gouti (11-3-0) was removed from his UFC Fight Night 110 contest with Korean Dong Hyun Kim (14-8-3) due to illness.

There was more Kiwi success on the preliminary portion of the card, Hamilton's own Luke Jumeau repaid the faith of his legion of supporters with an impressive UFC debut, taking a well-earned unanimous decision win over American Dominque Steele.

In the co-main event Derek Brunson made quick work of Dan Kelly, picking up a first round, KO win.

Hunt has been a loud opponent of performance-enhancing drugs since last summer, when he suffered a decision loss to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. His past five UFC wins, in fact, have all come via knockout in the opening round.

Hooker finished Pearson with a highlight-reel standing knee at 3:02 of the second round. "I'm sure you guys saw with Anderson Silva". Pearson's punch landed, but he caught the worse of the exchange, as Hooker's knee landed flush under his chin, knocking out his mouthpiece.
