Paul George prefers to sign with Lakers as free agent in 2018

George is the player the Pacers keep hoping to build their own title dreams around, dreams which haven't worked out.

This could really shake up the landscape of the NBA and influence what happens in this week's NBA Draft.

And swirling are rumors that the Indiana Pacers star Paul George is the answer to the Cavs' championship dreams.

Paul George has told the Indiana Pacers that he will leave the franchise via free agency after the 2017-2018 season, according to this Sunday report from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

If he does sign with the Lakers in free agency following the 2017-18 season, then George can sign a four-year deal worth up to $130 million. That was the report from The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday afternoon that sent the National Basketball Association world into a frenzy. They could free up space by renouncing Randle and freeing themselves of his $12 million cap hold, but that's the least attractive route.

All of that makes it possible the Pacers will need to trade George for pennies on the dollar. "It came from the heart, very honest on wanting to bring that to Indiana.that's where my heart's always going to be at", George said. I am under contract, and I intend to play, " George said while sitting in the first-base dugout.

Still, even with all those rumors out there, it may take some time before a George trade materializes, if it ever does. He could make more by staying in IN with the Pacers able to offer him one more year on a contract.

It's not a good time to be a fan of the Indiana Pacers. The report also stated that George prefers to sign with the Lakers. Recently, George had planned on evaluating his future and letting the Pacers know of his decision and it appears he's come to a final verdict.
