'Game Of Thrones': Has Jon Snow's Real Name Been Revealed?

We're now only a few short months away from Game of Thrones' glorious return to our screens and, little by little, we're starting to see set reports leak out and the like. "'Bran's now in this precarious situation in which it's just him and Meera [Ellie Kendrick], and he has all of this information that could change the entire story", says Hempstead Wright.

One of the long-running sagas of Game of Thrones revolves around Jon Snow's mysterious name and parentage.

But, to their credit, Game of Thrones fans are very good at figuring this shit out. Jon Snow has been crowned King in the North by his countrymen, Cersei has seized the Iron Throne in the South, and Daenerys Targaryen sails to Westeros to reclaim it with a massive, multicultural invasion force. This name is deliberately inaudible in the episode in order to build intrigue, but fans used the wonders of lip-reading and Ice and Fire lore to suggest that Lyanna had originally named Jon "Jaehaerys", a Targaryen name to match his father's ancestry. According to the latter, Bran would have discovered the real name of Jon at the same time that his origins and his brother would be thus called Jaehaerys Targaryen. But until then, melty continues to make you wait and it is from the famous Jon Snow (Kit Harington) that we will speak to you today.

"As we saw in the last episode of Season 6, Bran's psychic time-travelling "greensight" revealed the true nature of Jon's birth heritage and his real name: Jaehaerys Targaryen".

Snow was delivered by his dying mother Lyanna with Ned Stark by his side. Since the excerpt was shared on Reddit, Empire contributor Dan Jolin clarified that Jon's name is in no way confirmed and this report was simply based on the lip-reading of dedicated fan Claire Williams, who is credited as first popularizing the Jaehaerys theory past year. I know some writers make posts like, "Wrote three pages today", but that's never been my way. Tyrion is the youngest son of Tywin Lannister and Joanna who was believed to be having an affair Aerys Targaryen also known as The Mad King.
