Manchester City continue to view Tottenham defender Kyle Walker as their top right-back target this summer, despite the impending arrival of Dani Alves to the Etihad Stadium.

The former Barcelona man played a starring role in Juve's double-winning campaign that also saw them reach the Champions League final, but news surfaced that he wants to reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola at Barcelona at Manchester City.

Earlier this week, Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta confirmed the Brazilian global has asked to leave the Serie A champions this summer.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is known to be interested in the 34-year-old, whom he knows from their time together at FC Barcelona.

The Brazilian continued: "I don't know what is happening".

"If I leave, it will be without any confrontation and with no problems, as opposed to what is being said". Alves told Brazilian talk show Conversa com Bial.

When asked if City would be his next team, Alves replied: "Well, everyone knows my admiration for Pep Guardiola".

Speaking at a golf event at the Belfry he said: "I'm happy and the club have made a good effort".

Guardiola was keen to add another right-back to his squad following the exits of out-of-contract duo Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta.

"I'm looking for a player that doesn't play golf, so they can be focused".
