Cher Announces Musical Based on Her Life Coming to Broadway in 2018
Cher appeared on Broadway in the short-lived production of Ed Graczyk's Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, a role she later repeated on film.
As well as enjoying hits such as I Got You Babe and If I Could Turn Back Time, the California-born star is also known for her skills on the screen, with acting and cameo roles across a range of films and United States television shows.

Cher is turning back time and giving us an inside look at her career in a new musical based on her life. "It'll be on Broadway 2018". There Will performance in THEARE WITH ACTORS, DANCERS, SINGERS! So far, we know that Jason Moore ("Avenue Q", "Pitch Perfect") is set to direct the musical, Rick Elice ("Jersey Boys") is set to write the book, and Jeffrey Seller ("Hamilton") and Flody Suarez ("Rise") are set to produce. Three different actresses will portray Cher at various points in her life.
The show also called for characters including Cher's parents, Bob Mackie, David Geffen, Gregg Allman, Robert Altman, Rob Camilletti and Sigmund Freud.
She and Sonny Bono launched their careers together with hit singles "I Got You Babe", "The Beat Goes On" and "All I Ever Need Is You".
News of a possible musical production tracing Cher's life - and using Cher's extensive catalog of pop hits - surfaced in January, when the singer attended a read-through of the production.
