On Gnabry, Baggies boss Tony Pulis said in October 2015: 'Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn't been for me, at the moment, at that level to play the games'.

Werder Bremen chairman Klaus Filbry has criticised Serge Gnabry for leaving the Bundesliga club after one season, saying the winger "opted for the easiest way".

Gnabry, who was top scorer at the Rio Olympics last summer, joins Carlo Ancelotti's side after an impressive season with Bremen.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, meanwhile, was pleased to welcome another Germany worldwide to the Allianz Arena.

"It is a big honour to become a part of Bayern", Gnabry commented on his transfer.

Serge Gnabry has made a decision to leave Werder Bremen after just one season at the club.

The German winger spent four seasons at Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, making just 18 appearances but failed to cement a place in the first team.

The 21-year-old winger has chose to activate an exit clause in his contract with Werder, frustrating Filbry with his decision.

Gnabry earned his first senior cap last November, scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup qualifier away to San Marino, which Germany won 8-0. "It's going to be an exciting time and one that I'm very much looking forward to", he told Bayern's official website.
