AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has stunned the club by turning down a new contract, said CEO Marco Fassone.

Man City's goalkeeper may be addressed by Pep in the summer, but Gab Marcotti doesn't believe the Italian will jump ship.

The 18-year-old AC Milan stopper is the subject of some intense transfer speculation after rejecting a new contract with the Rossoneri.

But Mirabelli has responded strongly, insisting Donnarumma is not to be sold and that it is now up to coach Vincenzo Montella to decide whether or not the young keeper plays.

"Donnarumma is a great champion, a great guy and a Milan player", Mirabelli told Sportitalia. When a player is on the market we have a duty to try. And I say that with the utmost respect for Gigio and Raiola: "everyone is free to make whatever decision they deem right".

The 18-year-old's current contract runs out in 12 months but he has chose to move elsewhere after not accepting the reported five million euros ($5.58 million) per season contract offered by AC Milan, the club announced on Thursday.

Also, Calciomercato report on who is being lined up to be Donnarumma's replacement, with three names now seemingly coming to the fore.

Donnarumma's stance with Milan has upset numerous club's supporters while making global headlines.

Gigi Di Biagio praised Gianluigi Donnarumma's maturity after he "put up with something that goes beyond football" as Milan fans threw fake dollar bills during an Italy game.

They also hung a banner behind the goal that read "Dollarumma" and the match even needed to be stopped briefly while workers tried to clear the pitch.
