Apple's Siri may have to make room for another digital assistant as it appears the Google Assistant could be coming to iOS soon. These three are able to integrate more deeply into their respective platforms, at least more than third-party apps. It is set to land on the iPhone as a free, standalone app that can be downloaded from Apple's App Store, according to the person. The most important - at least to those of us who think a smart home assistant speaker should be able to remind us of things - might be in the app's future ability to list reminders.

Reports have it that Google is working on plans to bring its popular Assistant to iOS users. The aforementioned Google Allo hit iTunes on the same day as the Android version this past fall.

Although Apple has CarPlay, which competes directly with Android Auto, there are no stated plans for vehicle infotainment systems that run iOS. All these services will also be displayed on the Audi virtual cockpit, directly in the driver's field of view.

Audi continues its push into the high-tech vehicle space with a demonstration this week at Google's annual developer conference.

A demo of the system will be on display at Google I/O later this week, where we'll try to learn as much as we can about Google's new project.

In fact, there are so many ways Google Assistant can be used on your smartphone.

There's also talk of Assistant reaching GE's home appliances. This marks the first time the new services have been fully integrated into Audi's brand specific infotainment system.

Since then, Google Assistant has become a standard feature for the newest Android Nougat smartphones.

Today Google's only spot in the automobile market is Android Automobile, which is not an OS. It would feature a blend of the "chat" style functionality Android users are already used to, and will also be built with similar voice-controlled version on Android. The expansion of Google Assistant to iOS is just the latest news and changes that Google is making to Google Assistant.

Google Assistant will reportedly be available as an app for iOS devices in the United States.
